Most people call us the Kain 6 Pack- we are odd bunch that love to spend time together. I have been married for 15 years to a wondeful man who puts up with my costly ideas. We decided to adopt a child in 1998.....10 years later....we have adopted four wonderful children. In my husbands line of work, he realized how many children there are in foster care and that we would be blessed to be able to adopt children who needed us ( truely we realized that we needed them). Four adoptions later.....they are the reason for our lives. I could go on and on about the subject of adoption and the benefits for all, but I will just say that if you are pondering the idea......go for it!!!
It's Me- Cherie
My idea of a pond started when we moved out to the prairie. We bought 5 acres, and it had not even one tree on it....in my brain that meant that I could do whatever I wanted to the property. First idea....a koi pond. I didn't know much about koi or koi ponds so I went to the local book store and bought every book they had on the subject. I was drawn to every picture of the "natural" looking ponds. So off we went and built the old pond. As I stated on the home page....it couldn't work in this area. It wasnt covered, it wasnt deep enough and not safe for family members. And the plants were more work then I expected.
I am a member of the Shasta Water Garden & Koi Club in California. I am pleased to be a board member this year and I am also the webmaster for the clubs website.
I always thought that "clubs" were for old people. I went to my first meeting and I was hooked. The people are wonderful, the ponds we see are amazing and the information and ideas are abundant. We have a meeting once a month and we go on special trips. We are having our first Koi Show this year and I was pleased to be on the 2007 Pond Tour.
My koi are my "babies" and I am completely Koi crazy. I enjoy my pond and spending as much time in the garden as possible.

The Kids
My angels-in easter baskets of course. I could have used a really nice picture of the kids....but thats not normal, we are an odd bunch I warned you. Fun and laughter go hand and hand around here. So here's our kids in all their goofiness.
My hubby- I am so happy that he is as easy going as he is. I always run my crazy ideas by him for house projects and he always seems to make them work. He is the muscle behind my brains.
Love ya babe!
